Pickett Expands Substation Offerings

Pickett is excited to announce the addition of a new substation sector, based in Raleigh, North Carolina and operating across the entire company.

Previously, Pickett has played an important role in substation design from a structural perspective, designing control houses, equipment foundations and other infrastructure within and outside of the substation fence. The addition of four key employees in Raleigh has expanded our substation offerings, as we will now be providing physical layout and electrical services.

We now offer electrical design, physical layout, structure detailing, and 3D modeling to complement our structural design, surveying and LiDAR services for substations.  Pickett can provide engineering services for substations from conceptual development through detail design and as-builts. This new sector allows us to perform multiple studies associated with substations: AC & DC Station Service, Grounding, Lightning Protection, Lighting, and Trench and Conduit Fill. This latest strategic initiative will strengthen our service line to our existing clients while providing another entry point for new clients.

The new substation group has experience ranging from 500kV to 4kV. The team is led by Pete Baxter, an electrical engineer with a wealth of substation design and leadership experience. Pete is joined by Jamez Ellis, an electrical engineer who has six years of progressive substation experience. Rob Goodwin, a senior structural designer, adds sixteen years of design and detailing experience to our new substation team. Hicham Elazarifi, a substation designer and CAD technician, will add experience modeling substations in 2D as well as 3D.

We are very excited to welcome these four new team members to the Pickett family, as we know they will bring tremendous value to our clients. Our new substation offerings are currently in effect. For more information about our substation services, please contact info@www.pickettusa.com.
